Do you need affordable childcare and education?

Welcome to our lovely wee Centre in the heart of Timaru. We are non-profit and community owned and operated with all profits going back into the Centre.

We understand the best way to provide quality education and care for your child is to ensure we have passionate and qualified kaiako, alongside low teacher to child ratios. We offer low teacher to child ratios and all our staff are qualifed and registered teachers or currently in training.

We would love to look after your child.

We provide quality early childhood education to give our tamariki the knowledge, skills, abilities to be active life-long learners. Our informal, home-away-from home setting enables tamariki, whānau and kaiako and kaihamhi to feel valued, respected and relaxed in our learning environment.

WHAT MAKES US SPECIAL:

  • Continuous care: We care for babies/pepi from three months to six year olds.
  • Qualified care: All of our kaiako are qualified and registered teachers or currently in training.
  • Low teacher to child ratio: Under 2's: 1 teacher to 3 children and Over 2's: 1 teacher to 8 children.
  • Small numbers: Our max role is 50, which means more personal attention, knowing and responding to tamariki and whānau individual needs, and a strong sense of turangawaewae, community and connection.
  • Education: We follow your child interests and progress their learning by intentionally planning and creating stimulating, challenging and fun learning environments. Our learning environment is based on a child lead play and based on the Early Childhood Curriculum, Te Whāriki.
  • Socialisation: Your child will develop their social comptence skills as they engage, interact and form peer relationships. This will look like lots of face time with other little ones to prepare for school and beyond.
  • Reliability: We are open from 8:15am - 5:15pm weekdays to support a variety of our parent schedules. We are also open during the school holidays, however do close for two weeks over the Christmas period.
  • We are non-profit and community owned and operated, offering a unique opportunity for community involvement. We work in partnership with whanau to ensure the holistic needs of children are met.
